iPhone 14 May be More Expensive With A Titanium Frame
According to Patently Apple, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has published a patent application from Apple called "Titanium Components with anodized Layers."
It's worth noting that Apple's patent says titanium anodized parts can be used in MacBook, iPad, Apple Watch and iPhone products, but Patently Apple says the iPhone 14 could be the first with a titanium frame.
Titanium Components with anodized Layers by Apple
Titanium is a metal with many advantages. It is easy to process and has high strength. The density of titanium alloy is generally about 4.51g/cm3, which is only 60% of steel. If Apple can replace the stainless steel frame of the iPhone with titanium alloy, the weight will be greatly reduced. Although titanium is abundent on the earth, it is more difficult to extract it, so the price is still higher.
