Titanium and Titanium Alloy Material used in 3D Printing
Titanium and titanium alloy materials, with its light weight, high melting point, high strength, small thermal conductivity, corrosion resistant, high temperature resistance, now they are mainly used in airframe, the engine compressor blade, the spacecraft's pressure vessel, spaceflight fuel tank, fasteners, structural parts and so on. The most widely used titanium alloy are Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-5Al-2.5Sn, also the pure titanium, Gr1, Gr2 and Gr3. With all the features above, titanium materials are very suitable for using in 3D printing.
Advantages of titanium and titanium alloy used in 3D printing:
1. Make the special shaped and complex structures come true, the min wall thickness can be 0.3 to 0.4mm;
2. Make the final products near-net forming, precision can reach to 0.05mm;
3. Under the same stiffness, compared to the traditional machining method, 3D printing can reduce about 50% weight;
4. Reduce the costs, and also can shorten the production lead time;
5. Can help make the changed design costs to the lowest;
6. Can make the principled sample machine in low costs and quick delivery.
Here attached some photos of the titanium materials we are using in 3D printing, like the titanium spherical powder, titanium wires, they are all the usual materials we used, just for your reference, thanks.
