Pangang Titanium Alloyed New Wear-Resistant Steel Fills Related Technical Gaps
On June 14th, it was learned that in order to give full play to the high-strength, high-toughness, corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant characteristics of titanium in steel, and to develop and extend the back-end high-value applications, Pangang, in collaboration with Beijing Institute of Steel Research, Chongqing University, Northeastern University and other scientific research institutions, has successfully developed a new type of titanium alloyed wear-resistant steel, which has opened up a new scenario for the application of titanium resources. At the same time, a green low-cost preparation technology for titanium alloyed wear-resistant steel has been formed, filling the gap in related domestic technologies.
It is understood that through a combination of laboratory basic theoretical research, industrial test preparation, and industrial large-scale application, the project team has gradually broken through a number of key technical problems plaguing the continuous casting production of high-titanium steel, and researched and developed the “continuous casting-hot continuous rolling” preparation process of titanium-containing wear-resistant steel. Xiong Xuegang, a senior engineer at Pangang Research Institute, introduced that compared with the traditional process, the titanium alloyed wear-resistant steel produced by this process has the advantages of high production efficiency, high yield, low production costs, and wide product range.
It is worth mentioning that the technology studied in the project can also be popularized and applied in the production of various types of high-titanium steels, which provides an important process and technology platform for enterprises to further build and develop high-performance, low-cost, titanium-containing high-tech material products and achieve low-cost, high-efficiency, large-scale preparation and application. It also promotes the high-value and deep extension and sustainable development of the Panxi vanadium-titanium industry chain, and enhances the overall level of high-titanium steel production in China and the self-sufficiency rate of high-end products. It provides strong technical support.
