Grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) is the most widely used titanium alloy, accounting for nearly 50% of total titanium usage worldwide. Known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, excellent corrosion resistance, and high toughness, our Grade 5 titanium plates are engineered for demanding environments.
1.Common grades and applications of titanium alloy plates
GR1 (TA1) : High-purity titanium plate, low strength, low oxygen content, and high formability. It is often used to make heat exchangers and desalination devices.
GR2 (TA2) : Pure titanium plate, medium strength, is one of the most commonly used grades. It has good weldability and corrosion resistance, and is often used for plates in corrosive environments, or for making equipment, storage tanks, welded pipes, etc.
GR4 (TA4): The pure titanium plate with the highest strength, featuring excellent corrosion resistance and good weldability. Due to its high strength and excellent performance, it is almost exclusively used in high-end fields such as aircraft fuselages, aircraft engine parts, ships, surgical implants and hydraulic oil pipes.
GR5 (TC4,Ti-6Al-4V) : High-strength titanium alloy plate, it is the most widely used grade. It has excellent properties such as high strength, corrosion resistance and good processability, and is often used to make various structural components, such as aircraft engine parts and flight parts of rockets.
In addition, there are other common titanium alloy plate grades such as GR7 and GR11, each with its own unique properties and applications.

5. FAQ
Q: What is the difference between Grade 2 and Grade 5 titanium plates?
A: Grade 2 is commercially pure titanium, offering better formability and higher corrosion resistance but lower strength. Grade 5 is an alpha-beta alloy with significantly higher mechanical strength, making it suitable for structural applications.
Q: Can you provide customized sizes?
A: Yes, we provide custom-cut-to-size Grade 5 titanium plates using precision water-jet cutting to minimize the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ).
