All Kinds of Metal Material Forming Process--Rolling and Extruding
1. Rolling
1) Rolling: The metal blank through a pair of rotating roller gap (various shapes), due to the roll compression molding rolling so that the cross-section of the material is reduced, the length increases, a kind of pressure processing method.
2) Rolling Classification:
According to the movement of rolling parts, there are: longitudinal rolling, cross rolling, skew rolling.
① Longitudinal Rolling: The process by which a metal is passed between two rollers rotating in opposite directions, forming a plastic deformation between them.
② Cross Rolling: The rolling part moves in the same direction as the axis of the roll after deformation.
③ Skew Rolling: The rolled piece moves in a spiral, and the rolled piece is not at a special angle to the axis of the roll.
3) Application:
Mainly used in metal material profiles, plates, pipes, and some non-metal materials such as plastic products and glass products.
2. Extrusion
1) Extrusion: Billet in three directions under the action of non-uniform compressive stress, extrusion from the orifice or gap of the mold to reduce the cross-sectional area and increase the length of the required product processing method is called extrusion, billet processing is called extrusion molding.
2) Process: preparation before extrusion → casting rod heating → extrusion → stretching and twisting and straightening → sawing (sizing) → sampling inspection → manual aging → packing and storage
3) Advantages:
① Wide range of production, product specifications, varieties;
② Production flexibility, suitable for small batch production;
③ Product size precision is high, surface quality is good;
④ Less equipment investment, small plant area, easy to achieve automatic production.
4) Disadvantages:
① Large loss of geometric waste;
② Uneven metal flow;
③ Low extrusion speed, long auxiliary time;
④ High tool loss and high cost;
5) Production scope of application:
mainly used for manufacturing long rod, deep hole, thin wall, special section parts.
