The "Key" To The Production of Titanium Alloy Steel Has Been Found
Recently, Pan Gang has successfully broke through the key technical problems in the production process of converter and continuous casting of titanium alloy steel with titanium content of 0.25% to 0.50%, and realized the multi-furnace continuous casting of ≥2 furnaces of titanium alloy steel with titanium content of 0.25% to 0.50% for the first time in China, the cast billet produced is in good quality. This provides an important process and technology platform for Pan Gang to develop high performance, low cost titanium containing high-tech materials.
It is understood that when the titanium content in steel is greater than or equal to 0.20%, it can further obtain high strength, high toughness, high wear resistance, high corrosion resistance and reduce steel anisotropy, improve workability, improve hydrogen-induced crack resistance and other properties, which is an important cornerstone of the development of new steel materials. However, when the content of titanium in steel is high, a large number of materials with high melting point can easily lead to steel leakage and serious defects of billet during continuous casting, which leads to the failure of large-scale continuous casting.
Panzhihua joint domestic famous universities and research institutes, through laboratory basic theory research, industrial experiment preparation, industrial scale application of the combination for research and development mode, gradually broke through the troubled high titanium alloy steel continuous casting production of composition control, the molten steel pouring can be accurately, the molten steel inclusion control and key technical problems such as slab quality control. The preparation process of "bof - continuous casting - rolling" with high efficiency and low cost for new high-titanium materials has been researched and developed. The multi-section, continuous casting ≥2 furnace casting of wear resistant steel with titanium content of 0.25% to 0.50% produced by 120-ton bof and 200-ton bof has been successfully realized, and the production theory and technology system of titanium alloy steel has been improved.
Relevant experts believe that the project will promote Panxi Vanadium Titanium Industry chain high-value deep extension and sustainable development, improve the overall level of alloyed steel production in China and high-end product self-sufficiency rate.
